Okay guys as of next week I'm gonna be pulling the 35x13.50 claws off. I need something more streetable so what do you guys think on tire choices?
Looking for
-a good lasting tire
-mild wheeling (not alot of mud but some slick situations)
-somewhat low noise

Why not the Toyo MTs or the Cooper STTs?
Out of that list though I would have a tendency to go with the BFGs or MTRs. However, the MTRs do get pretty noisy when they become worn a little

None of the above - Mickey Thompson MTZ.
If I had to pick from your list, I'd go with the MTR's but they are $$$

I had a set of 32in Pro Comp Mud on an old k5 blazer of mine. The thing was a tank and a half. Never got stuck with them.

I have had MTR's for 3 or so years now. the only time I have been stuck is when my 4 wheel drive was broken, and when I was stuck in mud up to the top of my rockers. I also haven't begun to see any uneven wear on my tires, which is a common problem with the BFG's. Also my tires haven't gotten too noisy yet. They are a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you know someone with a connection through your goodyear they you should be able to come away with them for around 160 apiece brand new. At least I was. And my brother just worked for a muffler and tire shop at the time when he did it for me.:thup2:

I meant to metion another option would be to keep your 35's if they are still good, and get a set of street tires or at's for when you are not playing.

Trxus MT's get my vote. Why? Because they lasted me 6 years of daily driving and wheeling. They also are amazing in the snow that we get up here and they are not that loud at all. Best bang for your buck tire out there if you ask me.

b/c I have a heavy foot, not enough willpower to say "I can't do that", and a 30 front. Plus I don't trailer the jeep so 3 hour rides on 35" bias ply claws makes me wanna scream.

Switch to Dick Cepek (also Mickey Thompson) FCII. Excellent tire in every catagory - good in the mud, but not the best around. Wear incredibly well.

:thup2: that is why i said keep them and get a set or street tires. Throw the claws on when you are going to go wheeling, and take them off when you are done.

seriously you cant go wrong with a set of bfg's not to loud on the highway and dig in mud and stick to the rocks well. They work well in snow only problem they have is when you get down on tread in the rain but its to be expected from any tire. I've had them for a longtime in all different sizes and never got pissed off cause my tires wouldnt hookup.. only reason i got mad is cause of open front diffs ha. You can get 40,000 plus out of a set...
good luck with your choice
