I have heard of similar issues with a resolution, but don't know it. In cold weather, I turn the key and the engine cranks but as I understand it the computer is not signaling the spark or fuel pump. The starter is on a different circuit so it cranks. After a while I hear a clicking and then I know it will start and it does. I think it is something to do with computer not getting current. Any one familiar with this? Thanks.

I had the same problem with my '91 4.0 YJ. The ECU is not turning on the fuel pump to prime the injectors. If you wait a while (sometimes a long while) for the check engine light to come on, you will hear the pump turn on and the Jeep starts and runs fine.

I sent my ECU to a company in California. I think the name was Python Injection, but I can't recall. It was returned to me in 3 days and the Jeep has been fine since.

You are right. If I wait for the check engine light to come on, then try to start it, it starts fine. Then it is the computer, not something else.
