or heads, which ever. pulled the valve covers on the 4.3L in my son's YJ and sprayed them and cranked the motor with the plugs out for a solid week.
Before we sprayed the rocker would barely move, but were rocking quite
nicely by last night. Put the plugs back in and the motor just locks up again. I'm convinced it's in the heads, so off they come for a couple of reman jobs from the local parts store.

this thing is proving to be a PITA, but the boy sure is learning tons about engines, fuel delivery, rust, suspensions, brakes, etc by putting this thing together.

It's sitting on it's suspension and tires now. HD rear OME springs (thanks Matt Pascoe) all the way around and riding on 32" MT's and it looks pretty good for his first "car"

That sounds soooo familiar. I bought a basket case out of the salvage yard about a year and a half ago. My 16 yr old and I have been working on it ever since. (I know, It is a jeep, we will be working on it from now on). We now have it lifted and nice enough for his first car. The knowledge he gained from helping was worth as much as the jeep. Kudos on helping your son get in the Jeep business and caring enough to help him!
