Hello everyone,

I have a dana 44 that came out of a 1986 CJ7 - I assume the thing is very close to a bolt in on a yj. I have heard these things are rare, and I am not sure if I want to do this project or sell the thing...My dana is holding up right now and my off road duties are going to be limited from now on. What do you think? Keep or sell? It worked perfectly when I took it out from the CJ, so i don't know...

If I remember correctly. the wide track CJ is about 55" WMS to WMS. Your YJ should be about 60".

If I sold it do you think people would be interested in it? Like what would it go for?

5 extra inches wouldn't be that hard either with wheel spacer adapters anyways. I think it would bolt in pretty easily.

I know CJ5 guys right now looking for wide tracks,... put it in the forum want adds and see what happens. Gear ratio and if has a locker or not would determine the price.

PM me. I'll take it off your hands.

Its a differant BP than the Yj the YJ is 5x4.5 and the CJ is 5x5.5. If it truely is an 86 WT CJ D44 its worth around 500.00 give or take a hundred. You can pick up a direct bolt in D44 out of the late eighties metric XJ or MJ's. You could also do an 8.8 which I have heard is a good swap.

I know the bp is different, but it truly is a WT Dana 44 out of a 1986 CJ7 - I just don't see the need for it. It's sitting in my garage right now, I was thinking about ebaying it. I dunno, maybe pm me if you are interested, I live right by Akron, Ohio - I know this isn't the for sale forum, but just figured I would mention it, see what kind of offers I get.

I know this is old from me, but I figured I would let the JJ community know. I am putting this for sale on ebay within the next week. If you are interested send me a pm or something. Thanks!
