YJ hitch help please!

Hey guys,

Did this once before on my old TJ, but I'm a bit baffled. Bought my 89 YJ a couple of months ago, and ordered a Hidden Hitch #87002, says it fits YJ and TJ, so it's the same I've already installed.

It doesn't seem wide enough to get around the leaf springs! I can't seem to even mock fit it up there. Is there a trick, or some kind of contortion, to perform? Do I need to take the leaf spring bolts out? It's the first "warm" (40s) day in 2 weeks, and I'd love to get this done today.

FYI anyone doing this: The "fins" or flanges that attach to the frame were pushed in, not enough to notice, but enough that it wouldn't fit on. A few taps with the BFH and it was on.
