My mother bought this jeep brand new in 1995. She put everything you get on it from the factory including A/C and ABS. It came with half steel doors, hard top, soft top and she also bought a Bikini Top, Windjammer, Tonneau cover, nose bra, some big rain cover that covers the top of the jeep? and a bunch of other items. It has the 5sp 4.0L engine in it. The engine has only 83,000 miles on it.

She has since bought a new vehicle and couldnt bare to sell the jeep to a stranger so she decided to keep it in the family and GIVE it to me! All I had to do was pay $1195 to get it shipped from AZ to NY

None of tops or half doors have EVER been used (still in their respective boxes). She has ran the hard top and full doors ever since she owned it..and has only had the Hard Top off the Jeep once (for like 4 hours).

So here it is! I got it about a week or so ago and thankfully we had a nice day here in upstate NY so i decided to take the hardtop off!

And of course the hard top on.

Wow, thats one of the cleanest YJ's I have ever seen. Wish my YJ came from the south. I'd get a good undercoat under it to keep it looking good and rust free.

Congrats...

I couldnt believe it myself when I got it from the transport company. My mother barely drove the thing since it only has 83k on it for a 1995. I can tell you the interior is the same as the outside too. The original carpet is still in it with no holes or tears or anything. The seats are still intact with no cracking peeling etc. Hell, it even still has the factory front speakers which seem to work pretty good actually. I took the back carpet out to do some installation of an amp and the same color outside is painted on the floor..no rust, nothing! Hell i could barely find a scratch.

I was talking to my mother and she said some guy offered her 8,000$ for the jeep but she refused to sell it. Luckily for me of course :) She has had it in her carport for about a year or so and she would go out every few weeks and start it up and drive it around only to park it back in again.

Im not a mechanic but I cant seem to see anything wrong engine wise with it. Its ballsy as all hell with the 4.0L, so much in fact i was surprised it could get up and go. I do intend on getting it undercoated in preperation for the good ole Upstate, NY weather, i would hate to see the thing go to crap from the weather out here.

Anyone have any other advice or anything i should look out for that may be a Jeep "bug" with that year..or things i should check to see if they need replaced?

And thanks for all the comments all.

Im liking the color as well Joe! It really stands out in the sun.

No go on the swap Dan :) Nice try though!

Oh as an edit..unfortunately the factory soft top has mold spots on the plastic windows since they were never used and in storage all these years, so im trying to figure out how to get the mold off for next year :(

Heres a few more pics..I can take some of the interior in case anyone is interested..will have to wait until tomorrow though.

Picture of it in moms carport before it got shipped..AZ got hit with a few sandstorms before the transport came and took it so you can see the mass amounts of dust on it.

Here it is getting loaded on the transport truck for the long ride to NY

Excellent! I will be ordering some of that stuff and give it a shot. I really hope it works..i have no clue what the cost would be to replace the plastic windows should it come to it.

Bestop probably sells new replacement windows if it comes to that.

Very nice! :thup2:

'95's are considered by most to be the best year for YJ's.
Since your back east, keep the salt off it and keep it clean.
Now might be a good time to steam clean the undercarriage and then do some extra undercoating. :2cents:

As a new Jeep owner, make sure U wave :wavin2: at all YJ's... TJ's are optional! :touche: lol. J/K.

btw... size those pics down a little... my PC is slow. haha.

Damn!! How lucky is that??

That's looks awefully clean and in awesome shape!!

Makes me wish I had a nice jeep like that. Mine used to be like that...until lifts, bigger tires, and offroading made it look like crap over the years.

KEEP IT NICE!!

Is your mom accepting adoptions?

Men, I'm so jealous of you Triton. Thats the nicest YJ I've ever seen. Even when I hate the color green, figure it. :thup2:

I want a mom like yours, mines only gives me work... :disagree: You better send her (yours not mines ) a nice present for christmas.

Wow! That's my jeep! That's exactly what I got in 95 (and still have) although mine looks just a bit different now :). Same color and all. Enjoy it, it's a great year to have.
Cheers,

Rock Worm ---

Just out of curiosity why are they considered the best year?

Oddly I have come across quite a few jeep owners and ive only gotten a couple waves :(

Sorry about the picture sizes :( Good to know for future posts.

Janster ---

Sorry Janster..no adoptions :)

ive thought about doing some upgrades for it..having a hard time bringing myself to do it..im afraid it will get ruined and lose its luster.

SergiEnSapo ---

Definately will have to send a good xmas gift this year for sure! I owe mom bigtime for this one.

lessthanchris1 ---

Im definately going to undercoat it (hate to see it fall apart)..I just have to find a business here that does it and wont charge me a ridiculous cost.

ufatbastehd ---

Thanks!!

I appreciate everyone comments! Its nice to know there are some good people still around.

Im still trying to get used to driving it..I have a Grand Cherokee limited that the wife now drives since i have the Wrangler. What a difference in ride for sure. I ran over a worm the other day and it felt like a speed bump :)

95 has larger knuckles, either ABS or the bigger brake booster, and im sure more stuff I dont know about.

You can undercoat it yourself, just remove any rust you can see first. Just buy a tub of it from Pepboys or any autoplace. Check walmart first, they might have it cheaper.

As a fellow NY'er And owner of 2 very clean YJ's I strongly advise against driving that rig in the salt laden streets in the winter...but if you must, get some rust protection on that thing the very first thing you do. Undercoating sucks big time. What you want to do is to have it "Rust Check" The stuff is great and seeps into all the seams. It dosent harden and crack like undercoating.

Unfortunately it is also my daily driver since the missus is now using my grand Cherokee :( I will definately take peoples advice of Rust Proofing it and keeping it as clean as possible during the winter months.
