ive found the mopar ski spare tire mount, but that look like it fits snowboards

i dont have the money for a roof rack, the space inside to put them inside or a trailer hitch so im looking for somethign that preferably would allow me to mount it on the spare tire somehow...

though other pictures and ideas would be cool too

thanks

I'd think on your roof is still an ideal place for it. Just strap it to your roll bar and windshield pillar with tie downs. You can even do that with a roof in place. If you don't want to use tie downs, check out a surf strap. That will hold snowboards just as well as surfboards.

the problem with that is, they're snowboards so rest assured its cold as hell in the mountains where i goto school

taking the top off to drive to the ski resort really isn't an option otherwise id definitely do it

edit: you said even with a roof on...didnt notice that....do you have any pictures to give me some ideas or a better description?

There's usually something down low to strap to... like a rock slider, tube step, body mount, etc. For the front, strap it to your spreader bar and shut the door on it. The surf straps are better for this because they lock in seperately from the board.

hook a bungie cord to the binding and throw the board across the hood in the back and bungiee it down on each side fender.

it wont go anywhere

If I got alone, the board will fit in the Jeep on an angle. If someone else is with me, I take the truck :yup:

haha i dont have anything but the jeep

so i saw a tj today that had the rails that you usually see ontop of cars and stuff but instead he had it so it was attached to his hood, is that a jeep specific rack? has anyone else seen something like that? because thats what i want to buy if i can

You have to get a bike rack for at least 3 bikes and then a separate rack for skis and boards. My bike rack bolts to the spare tire mount. My board rack can hold either 4 boards, 2 boards and 3 skis, or 6 skis

I dont use a rack. I just throw my skis and board sidways in the back of the cab. I dont like the salt and grime on my board or skis. The grime and salt pits and screw up the the edges and bindings. If i use a rack i use my rocket box on top with my thule bars. I live near many major ski and boarding area in Utah. I hate racks that is why I bought a M100 military trailer for my jeep.

we would do it like this....only the truck would be the jeep....you get the idea

both of my boards have a 670cc motor on them....

generally, most snowboards I've run into on the way to the slopes, fit quite nicely under the front bumper or on the spring shackles! :rotflmao:

:touche:

but my SKI's fit on the hard top just fine!

just hav'n fun!
