Well, after sitt'n on my butt all season recovering from back surgery, I finally decided to take the junk out for a day run and do a little fishing at the same time. Test out the new springs and 1ton TRE flip I did back in the spring.
First time any hard core stuff since, and I'm feel'n a little better nowadays. (been 6 months.)
It just so "happened" that the lake myself and a buddy wanted to go to was on the Swamp lake trail up here in the Sierra's east of my lo-cal. :D
So it really was'nt my fault the trail was rough... I mean, thats' where the lake was, right? ;)

Anyway, since the trail is a loop, we did go in the "easy" way, but there were a few good rock piles and off camber ruts to give the new springs a good test. After running RE 4.5 springs prior to these, and (dare I say) pro-comps prior to those, I think I have a good handle on how well these springs performed.

I think I have to say I'm quite impressed! Even though I can honestly say the RE's were a little softer on road, I think the off road performance has them beat. Some of the off camber stuff and the larger boulders I have been over countless times before, seems much smoother and needed less effort for the springs to articulate over. I also noticed the Jeep was staying much more level and not as prone to leane and sway. Like I said... this section of the trail was'nt the most hard core part... but was enough to get a good feel for how well these springs work!
Steering work flawless, too.

My back thanks me!

(ok, truth be told... I'm a little sore) :innocent:

Didn't take any pics...but I have some old ones and one when I was running on the procomps... so ya all can see the area... :)

I don't know man... it doesn't look like you could easily get a bacon cheeseburger if you had the urge.

Nice place!

Did someone say, cheeseburgers ? Yeah I was pretty impressed with the way the Jeep articulated and it definitely rode a lot smother than I remembered. :thup2:

Rock Worm, Now that you have had those springs on for a while, are you still as happy with them. I bought the 4wd 5" lift about a year ago and have quite a lot of sagging on them already. Thinking of upgrading shortly to a better spring. I already upgraded my shocks to the pro comp MX6R's.

Thanks

I was using/borrowing a server provided by phattXJ. He has changed since then and as far as I know all pics posted in the past using his server may be 86'd???
I have my own now. (image shack) but don't have that many pics uploaded yet... but I do have a few if anyone needs one. :wavin2:

mwallek... b/c of the back thing, I did'nt do any more wheel'n this last season, (the heap's been sitting in my shop all winter) but I have no reason to think differently since that run. At the least, the springs should soften with more use. :thup2:
