You forgot to mention a few things that will determine if the donor tranny & tcase will "work" or if it's going to be a real headache/PITA.

You didn't mention which year your Jeep is or any specifics that are critical to determine if this will be more trouble than it's worth - or even possible.

You didn't mention if yours is a 4 or 6 cylinder
You didn't mention if your rig is a 6 cylinder, or if it's a 4.2L or 4.0L

You didn't mention which type tranny yours has (auto or manual)
You didn't mention which tcase yours has (NP207 or NP231)

The 2001 TJ will have one of 4 different tranny's.

Auto's:
32rh for a 4 cylinder
32rh for a 6 cylinder

Manual:
AX-5 for 4 cylinder
NV-3550 for 6 cylinder

Also, the TJ tcase is a different model NP-231 than the YJ's.

Let's say you have a 2.5L '87 YJ with auto tranny & NP207 tcase and you are attempting to install a 6 cylinder 4.0L TJ's tranny & tcase. There's going to be issues.

Need more info about your Jeep to determine if this will work.
