Does the starter engage, and the motor won't turn - or is the starter not even clunking in?

check your ground cables if you are getting nothing. I had one that was broken internal to the coating and would play games. I spent way to much time chasing my tail before I spent the $6 and just replaced the ground cable. No problems since.
But pony up some more info.
Was it running then just one day wouldnt start?
Do you have power (radio/lights ect)
is the battery good?

I was thinking either battery or cables, assuming the starter isn't responding. If it is and the motor still won't turn, pop the plugs out and check for fluids.

If all else fails, go to advance auto parts and they will test your starter for free. It's not unheard of to get a bad starter even when it's new -- especially if bought form a discount seller. Sometimes you have to check the most obvious...
As said above... sounds like an electrical problem.

Yeah, I agree. I'd say either starter wire, or ground cable. I had a solenoid go out once...but no biggie. I think we need more information to help you out with more accurate diagnostics :)

ok well battery is brand new and 12.6, and my lights and radio do work, and starter dosnt seem to engage at all. i turn the key and i get a click noise only once.

Mine does that, I tap the starter solenoid as it is sticking and then it will start. You can pull the starter and put it in a vice hook up 12 volts and make sure the starter even though it is new isn't a bad one.

well the power wire going to the starter is brand new (postive to starter) but there is a thin light green wire that goes from the starter relay to the starter that could be bad. could this cause my problem? also where could i get this thin green wire, and is this wire the ground cable?

A thin green wire can't be the ground cable for the starter. I imagine the starter grounds through the block...never thought much about it.
I am more familiar with Fords, but I suppose the thin green wire is the 12 V that enables the solenoid in the starter?
Basically, get under the Jeep with a DVM or a test light and see if 12V is on the big wire from the battery (+12V).
Now, if someone turns the key, and that green wire is supposed to tell the starter to get going, it should have 12V on it when the key is turned to start only.
A bad ground cable at the battery to engine block connection can pass enough current to allow for lights or horn or....but will not allow the starter to turn over.
You can pull the starter out and see if it will turn over outside the engine...be careful you don't get across the current path.

I had similar problems twice in the past. The first time it was my ground wire have gone to pot inside the insulation. The second time I couldn't figure out what it was so I talked to my uncle who work as a mechanic for some 40 years or more, and he took me through and diagnosed it, but told me all the common possibilties. If you are talking about the wire from the starter relay (underdash on top of steering column) to the solenoid through the dash and such there are some fusable links or something of that nature that could go bad. The other options are the battery(you said it is working), the starter solenoid, the starter, the starter relay switch(you said you replace it), or the wires to the solenoid or starter. I would start by checking the wire from the starter to the 'noid for power and then check, while cranking, the other side of the solenoid. If it isn't either one of those then you'll need to test the starter. If that isn't it then, as long as you are correct about what you said was working and the Items you replaced are working right, it would probably be the wire from the relay to the solinoid. If it isn't any of those I don't have a clue what else it could be right now.
