The Commander out sold the Grand C for the first time. In one of the bigest jeep sales months in history. The Commander sales were up over 110% over last years sales in November. The all new Wrangler sales were up 95% over last november's sales and beat the Commander by 700 units to take the number one spot. Total Jeep sales were 35,785 units in November 06' up 20% over last years total jeep sales in Nov 05'. It looks like the Commander is finally coming into its own. Now maybe they will give it a section of its own pretty soon, or at least just combine it with the GC.

Out of all the DaimlerChrysler Corporation U.S. products that inc. CHY, Dodge, and Jeep. The Commander finished 7th overall.
The top 10
were
1. Ram
2. Caravan
3. PT cruiser
4. Town and Country
5. 300
6. New Wrangler
7. Commander
8. Grand Cherokee
9. Sebring
10. Liberty
What I thought was kinda cool was that almost all the Jeeps were in the top 10, all the Trail rated ones were in there. I don't know where they found the over 3000 blind people to buy the Compass models but I hope they have people that drive for them, otherwise the streets just got a whole lot more scarrrrrrrry.LOL

It could have something to do with basically subtracting as much as $10,000 off the sticker by the time they (the Commander) rolls off the dealer lot. Like all domestic manufacturers, they need deep discounts to make sales numbers. They just can't break that cycle.

I can't believe people are still buying PT Cruisers - I drove a rental one time & Hated it. Uncomfortable and S-L-O-W.

I was at a dealership recently, picking up some parts, and I decided to take a look at the Commanders since I heard they were offering rediculous discounts on them. I was curious to see how cheap I could get one. Anyway, I wasn't even that serious about buying one and the salesman had already come down like 10K off sticker in like 10 minutes of talking. He said they can't move them and they really needed to get rid of some.

I bought mine last month, the same exact incentives were on the GC. They also had a big push with 0% 60 months finacing. There were no incentives that I knew about on 07 stock, just 06 closeouts. I believe the XK/WK offer was 3500.00 cash back, or 0% up to 60mo. There was also an extra 1000.00 if you finaced with DC and another 1000.00 if the vihichel was build prior to May 06 I think it was. Mine was built in July so 1000.00 was all I got but my buddy that works for me got his 2 days after I got mine and his qulified for the 2000.00. If you were planning to keep it at least 2 years the 0% on 60 was the better deal. I think as I recall the break even point was around 18 months. So yes I agree the big sales promo's pushed a lot of vehichels out the door last month for DC.
Well, that certainly isnt true of the 07 Overland model. I ordered one one 11/18. Best I could do was Dealer Invoice, and 3,000 in discounts (2,500 factory and $500 Veteran). Thus the sticker price was 44 something and I paid 38 something. john

Your region may have had something on the 07's, but I was told the 07 on the floor had no rebates, maybe they ment it did not have near the same kind of rebates as the 06. I know it was not showing the 0% on line at the time I bought mine in November only the 06 had the 0% plus 1000 bonus cash or 3500.00 plus 1000 bunus cash were my options for the 06 model that I bought.
I guess its a regional thing, but yes Florida had the 2,500 discount through 11/30 and I verified this not only at jeep.com but called the rebate center at jeep myself. john

i sure like the XK commander
if they take 10k off of them, then that makes them priced nicely. also, ina few years, taht will make resale totally crap, making me want one more.
i doubt i will ever buy a new car again.. bikes, sleds, and other things, but not a car when you can buy a barely used one for tons off in executive driven examples.
