View Full Version : How to extend fuel lines???

I am doing a 2.5 to 4.0 swap well the fuel lines are to short to reach the fuel rail now, beacsue the lines are for the 2.5 and now the 4.0 is there. so my ? is how can i splice into the lines and make them a couple inches longer. i read somewhere that someone did it but i dont remember how. so if i can how and what do i use to splice into them to make them longer? THanks

I just got steel line about 6 inches long for each line and flared the ends. Then cut the line and clamped it to the steel fuel line. I hope that helps. It's been like that for 4 years now and never leaked.

napa makes a steel line repair kit.Thats how I extended mine when I put my 4.3 in.

sorry no pics, but is all you do is cut off your old line so there is no flair than connect the old line to the new one with a compression clamp that comes in the kit. the new line already has a flare one one end to hook to your motor. Pretty simple.
