My 90 jeep thinks it's the ever ready battery bunny, it just keeps on running and running, every time I want to shut-down I have to put it in high gear and let out the clutch. This is not only aggravating but can't be good for it overall. the motor is out of a 96, 4.5l, manual trans, fuel injected, 60,000 miles. I was wondering if anyone would know something about this problem and give me some pointers as to what may be causing it and how to fix the cause. I know only a little about mechanics and don't have the money to take it to a garage. Thanx in advance for any help you offer.

Not being a mechanic or anything, it sounds like your ignition switch to me.

I agree. Does the ignition/key switch feel different? I have a new one from a 91 that I bought and decided to use toggle switches instead. So, let me know if you wanna give that a try. It is extremely easy to replace.
