took the Jeep to a local 'cruise night' tonight at Raceway Park, local shop has a concrete rock course set up.

Figured I would test out the 35's I mounted up sunday and so I did.

Started on a real hard line and backed off it so I wouldnt break. Took a different approach and started to climb.

BOOM rear DS let loose at the Slip yoke. Actually split the female part of the yoke inside the tail cone. took out the tail cone and the yoke.

I swapped another yoke end onto the DS and drove her home.

Ouch. Better to have broken it there than on a trailrun in the muck. :yup:

BTW: Are you now sporting 35" MT/R's, or something else?

Actually I dont think the SY had anything to do with this break. I have been beating on that DS and set up for about 4 years with no failures. My DS angle is about 22º or so.

Yoke was all the way in when it broke too. SYE aren't always the best answer. they are a means to haveing a double cardon joint at the tcase end of the drive shaft but I have never had a problem with mine.

I am just gonna swap on another tail cone I have and keep running it.

Joe- Yes they are 35" MTR's got them from a buddy who just put some 42 Iroks on his rig.

For all the local guys Raceway Park will be having the rock crawl every 2nd tues of the month for the rest of the summer. There will also be a full day event some time in July.
