Looking into extending my wheelbase and want to know what the various options are and what they give while staying sua and not having to move the steering box. Willing to relocate tank and extend the frame at each end....Tell/show me what you have please and thank you.

waggy springs should be able to give you about 2 inches of lift and stretch.....

It all depends on how much you want to extend it. You can't gain much up front if you're not willing to move the steering box, so it sounds like your talking fuel cell, comp cut, extending the frame, and moving the spring mounts. Post pics as you do it.

oooh i've got pics :agree:
i built these on the back of the frame to gain an additional 6". Remember, i cut the frame behind the driver seat so if you just add to the back of the frame, you won't need to build them NEARLY as far out as mine.

As for the tank, i recessed it in the tub, still finishing up the floor, but it's only 4" above the tub :D I welded my old 3/16" skid to a crossmember and the back of the frame, so i can access the tank from above, here's a few pics

FInished product is 106" Wheel base, with 5" of that gained from changing the front leaf springs to 20.5" x 26.5"

i like wallys way, but if you want to go an easier route with less fab. do what i did. make a rear crossmember for your bumper, fab some shackle hanger mounts. then move your rear front frame mounts back to the desired lengh, and your stretched. i got about 9" extra in WB now.

I used XJ leafs in the rear of mine. Gain 6"s of wheelbase. Use the stock spring hanger and then just buy a shackle hanger from FoothillOffroad and just weld it on. If you weld it on where the stock underside bumper mount is, it will give you a nice shackle angle.
I dont really have any good pics of the rear end of the Jeep right now, but if you want them anyways just PM me.

I moved my hangers back. Works well enough for me!

I moved my front 3" foward without moving the steering box (back when I still used a steering box)
mount the tie rod behind the axle and everything will fit ;)

Specs? Picts? I'd love to be able to stretch the front and rear the same....

Wally I dig those beadlocks in your first picture. Where did you get those rings?

I used this arm on the passengers side

and this one on the drivers side mounted backwards so the mounting eye (not drilled in this pic) was behind the front axle.

I then made my tie rod and mounted it behind the axle. It was that simple. The drag link had all the room it needed even with the stretch

It looks like 1 ton yj is running a dana 60 front by looking at his steering arms. I dont know what kind of axle you are running but I dont think you can run the tie rod behind the axle on a dana 30.
I stretched the front axle out 2" with waggy springs on my dana 30, but took them off cause I didnt like the way it drove. Maybe I should have played with it more, I dont know. The tie rod and drag link just barely cleared each other.
