Anybody?, I have a 2100 on my 87YJ. This morning I try to start it and fuel starts gushing out of the air cleaner and down the manifold puddling on the garage floor. The fuel is pouring out of the vents.
Fuel pressure to high?, float screwed up?... any suggestions. I don't know crap about carbs. The jeep ran real well last time i drove it (about 1 week ago).

Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the air cleaner and take the 'lid' off the carb(don't forget to unscrew the stud that holds the air cleaner down) Take a look at the float, see if it floats....lightly poke at it and make sure its not stuck.

Of course with the engine off

carb was new but sat awhile
both times there was a small piece of crud making the brass thing under the float stick. i think it's called a needle valve.
took top off , soaked up gas with a paper towel, removed float, removed the brass valve, checked for any crud. i actually used a shop vac to suck any crud out. safe since i had mopped all the gas up with the paper towels. :jawdrop:
fixed. doesn't take much to make that thing stick.

Thanks for the heads up, took the top off the carb and found the float doesn't float. Doesnt leak out but its full of fluid? give iot a shake and you can hear fluid inside. guess thats not right?.
I'll check NAPA for a new float tomorrow. :banghead:

a new kit is cheap and comes with a float
ordered mine at checkers, took a day to arrive, $20 maybe
that carb is easy to rebuild also!
