Here is a photo of my oil pan... I hit a rock or something???. I think I did it in Chokecherry Canyon NM. A place my jeep was not equiped for (rocks the size of a house, and that is what you play on).
The question is...
1 can you see the dent?
2 Is it bad enough to replace or
3 do nothing.
4 or just bang it out.

I would have bet, one cannot do this without more damage because the pan is so far up there.

#3 does not look bad enough to mess with IMO. Mine has a dent in it too but not enough to worry about.

Just bend a flat piece of metal of your preference, sand the surface and glue it to make your own oil pan skid. Done

I would make sure it did'nt damage your oil pump/pick up tube first.

Mine is so much worst than that...

It's fine. I had to custom route my exhaust in front of my oil pan, if the exhaust was still there it would be munched!!

It seriously doesn't look that bad.

I will have to make my own skidplate. There are no aftermarkets out there. But I agree, I need a skid... I have just about everything else under there skidplated. Never did this 'cause I did not think I could bash this up
If you have already been there done that, tell me or better yet show me.

This is what I put on.

I tried the Rock-it one and it fell off after the first contact with a rock. :lame:

YUP YUP ........got one of these also and they're AWESOME!!!

The only hiccup - is the damn (pardon) YJ exhaust. The exhaust hangs underneath the transmission. There's not much clearance inbetween the exhaust and the engine skid.

If you go wheelin' and land on the engine skid - it can get a slight 'bow' in it and the exhaust can eventually be resting (vibrating) againest the skid plate.

It's no big deal....every once in a while I'll take the skid plate off and park one of our other vehicles on it to 'flatten' it out again. I absolutely LOVE the protection this thing gives and the *no worries*

I've noticed you already have the TJ collector pipe on yours....I'm about to do that in a couple weeks and I won't have to worry about taking the skid off to flatten it out anymore.

This is what I want but... I just went to the Bronco game yesterday ($80.00)
Sat. we out wheeling and got "stuck" and needed to winch out. During that operation, my dog/co-pilot, Molly, ran into the cable and almost cut herself in half(not really just looks like it). She is at the vet now I have no clue what that will cost ( I guess $200.00 plus)? So I am tapped out right now. Winter project...
Also look for the thread I will make about the carnage done to the fender flair on Sat ,when I hit a tree(complete with photos). Those cost $450.00 and are now in bad shape
An expensive weekend.
