I'd be curious to know if more jeep magazines existed....

You are referring to paper publications and not 'online' magazines??

There's JP magazine
http://www.jpmagazine.com/

and a new one that's coming out soon (as found on this forum)
http://www.jrations.com/index.php

All of them are owned by the same company and repeat the same drivel month after month. I've cancelled subsriptions to all of them and only buy a copy if I flip through them at the store and see an article worth buying.

My favorite http://fsjworld.tenmagazines.com/subscribe.asp
FSJ Magazine. Of course that might be because in addition to the YJ I have an '88 Grand Wagoneer and a '71 J2000 Gladiator

jrations isn't primedia, and neither is petersons. ;)

I also saw on another board that XOM might be making a comeback.

Personally, if you want the info, all you need is the internet. Its all here somewhere. Pirate, here, local boards, Rockcrawler.com, 4x4wire, etc... More up to date without all the stupid tech and bias of print mags.

Though if I had to pick a print mag to subscribe to, it would be 4 Wheel Drive and SUV. Straight forward mild tech without the stupid crap to go with it.

I used to subscribe to a variety of mags, but, I realized I get better tech on the internet.

I have 2 subscripions
JP- Cheap, but reads cheap, and acts cheap . not relavent to real wheeling
4x4 and off road- again real cheap, mostly for trucks, I skim through it and toss it .Got 'cause of the free hat for subbing, a$15 hat with a free 2 year sub to the mag.

The only mag I ever did a trail ride from was 4 Wheel Drive and SUV, a trail near Green River UT as I remember. Not a bad trail...
Will let the 2 I have now run out, and get my stuff from the net, I think.

I realized I get better tech on the internet.

That's a fact. I have learned alot from others on here, and if you know how to sort thru the BS, the magazines will not even come close. I do like the pictures and specs of the rigs that have the 1-2 page write up as well as the ads.

I read cosmo.... :bangtard:

No actualy I read the ocassional mag that has a nice article in it. Though having read the last few Dirt Sports, Ill be getting a subscription for certain. They have actual fab information with real specs. Sure there are plenty of desert trucks, but you can learn from them easily. Ill recomend it again if you haven 't picked up an issue yet, Dirt Sports. Good reading. :thup2:

I do have wireless, but not for that purpose. As for can reading, its mostly flyfishing mags.

The internet is the best Jeep magazine money can buy.. for only $19.95/month I get Verizon DSL, and all the jeep information I can handle, not to mention lots of other stuff.

Set aside ~1/2 a day & go to your favorite local bookstore - cruise through all the magazine junk that's on the racks and read till you're content. Then make up your own mind based on what you've read and go ahead and pay for as many subscriptions as you wish.

Or, as many have already suggested, you can get the same - if not better information, for free, if you learn how to use various search functions.

I've been getting JP Magazine for about 2 years. My subscription ends soon and I won't be re-upping with them. I find they have some interesting stuff but usually the articles are more about the editor and his "junk". I'll stick to the various boards and tech write ups.
Cheers,
