I know nobody really wheels their Milkmobile :brows:, but if you did, what sort of spare parts would you carry in your parts box? What is both common to break and replaceable with a few handtools in the field?

wheeling a unibody chitbox is overrated.....when i used to go wheeling here in MN w/ some frineds who are tards when it comes to wheeling, i'd end up bringing everything, spare fluids, parts, tools, recovery stuff. everytime they'd break something...guess who got to fix it....i got sick of that chit.

Naaah...after sept. 11th attacks, some guys from work ordered them from e-bay in case we ever get hit by a dirty bomb...I threw them in the kit in case society ever breaks down and I have to head to the hills in the Jeep.

All of mine fits in a toolbox, a crate a little larger than a milk crate, a small tool bag for the recovery stuff, and in various nooks and crannies inside the vehicle, except the extra spare tire and Hi-Lift which go on the rack. A lot of small stuff like duck tape and rope fits under the seats or in the spare tie well. I was going to strap the spare tire rod to my rack, but I found it fits perfectly in the little pocket of carpet in the narrow gap behind the rear seats.

When mine gave out on a flat surface last week, WHILE sitting on top of the "off-road base", collapsing into the DS rear door on one of my XJs, thereby damaging it even more, I was even more convinced this was the case.

Gotta love when you decide to back them off. Wasn't it someone on JU who lost some teeth from a Highlift?

PS - DHMeieio, are you doing the run @ the Badlands May 20th? Saw your pic on jeepforum.com, thought you might be a part of the group.
