Ok so I am lookin for some rocker guards for my 91 YJ and I really dont like the price that I am seeing for all the rocker guards that I am finding.
I REALLY like the style of the Poison Spyder rockers so does anyone know how I can get a set that look like these with the tube step for less than 300 bucks? I know that this one is a little less than 300 bucks so any IDEAS?!?!

I made my own for ~$17.00. YES, seventeen dollars! :yup:
This included the 4" angle iron, 1.25" tubing, and 1/4"x3" inner sandwich plate I installed within the tub.

6"x4" angle iron, 1/4" thick. Got the steel for free. Torched holes out, got some 3/16" plate to bolt to on the inside, and sandwiched the tub. As good looking as the ones you posted? No, but for saving over $300 for something that is just gonna get beat and smashed on anyways, who cares?

Leadfoot, AWESOME! :agree:
For those who want spit shined or quality rocker protection and either can't or don't want to fabricate themselves for whatever reason, get ahold of Zach at AtoZ. He's a GREAT guy and makes top-notch quality products at fair market prices IMHO.

We're running FourXDoctor guards.... which run $265 or so plus shipping costs.
So I guess that doesn't fall in your expectations.
I love ours and they've taken a beating.

I personally don't have the time or the tools to make our own stuff.

I like the ones from Shrockworks (http://shrockworks.com/jeepbars.htm), but I also made my own. I had some 12" wide 3/16" plate bent to 6x6, then I cut to fit, drilled holes, and installed with a backing plate.
before paint and short a couple holes

Nice job Joe. If you have time, I would like to see pictures of how you mounted yours under the Jeep and inside the cab. I would like to take a shot at making a set as well.

Mr. Dillard, thanks for the mention. We would indeed be under $300 for a set of rockers, with round steps, to Texas. They would be $261, including shipping. Here is a set on a YJ with TJ flares, but with our old-style of tube. We have since increased the tube size to 1.5" OD:

Please let me know if we can help. Thanks.
BTW, Joe D., you will have to let me know if you are ever out this way again. We recently moved to PA and would love to host you in a ride at Paragon.
:edit: Wow, that shows up huge on this site. It is pretty small on our site?? Did I mention that I suck at the internet??
