I changed my mind and bought a RE 4.5" Extreme duty lift and some TJ flares. Will this fit 35's? I HATE body lifts, and want to avoid one at all costs. Any pics? suggestions? Thanx
( I did a search and came up with a few answers, just wanted re-affirmation)

not if you want to get all you can out of those springs ;)
i have the 4.5" lift with tj flares, and major cutting, AND a 2" body lift.
my front tires still smash the front fenders, as do the rear. ;)

Didn't work for me and I have a 1" BL as well. Springs sagged almost immediately so 33's wouldn't even work. I've since trashed them and gone SOA, problem solved.

They will fit, depending on how much you are willing to cut. Ive done lots of cutting, with 4" currie springs in the rear, SOA on stock springs up front, and 1" lift shackles.. Tube fenders up front, and lots of cutting in the rear fits 35's.. I might be able to squeeze 36's next...
I rubbed with 31's on this lift.

Dang it Cubby... ever time I start thinking about trashing the pro-craps and maybe swaping over to some RE HD's, I then have to read a post like this! :touche: :jabspar:

and no, btw, I'm not thinking SOA at this point in time.

Im running 4.5 with a 1" BL and TJ flares with 35's and I dont rub. I just cut sheet metal in the right places.

I'm running RE 4.5 with TJ flares and 1" body lift.
The only place I rub is during full turns on flat ground - need to adjust my steering stops. I never get myself into situations where I'm full compressed and turn full - that's just not good on ujoints.
Run the RE 4.5 with tj flares and 35's.....
You can prevent rubbing by adjusting your steering stops, changing your bumpstops, changing your shock set-up (if needed).

Sorry Man! All I can speak for is my own experience. There are lots of folks on this board that swear by the RE springs. I know for me, they sagged just about out of the box. Put new ones on and they too sagged. I am heavy so I'm sure that didn't help. I think WJCP may have had similar issues but not sure.
If you want to ensure you get great springs, call Alcan. Not cheap but they will work wonders, even SUA.

I run 37's on a Currie 3.5", a 1" body lift and tube fenders
I've also cut for TJ flares. I'm using the bump stops that came with the kit but modified them to mount on top of my u-bolt flip. That puts them about 1" closer than if mounted directly to the axle tube.
The rear tires will kiss the flares on full stuff, but not rip them off. The fronts slightly rub on the shock towers at full lock.

Ok granted I've got a CJ but I've got the RE 4.5, TJ flares, and 35's. Oh yeah a MORE stubby SRS w/buggy's. It's been a DD for about 3 years since I put the stuff on there. I do NOT get out wheeling now (can't find anywhere aronud here) but I used to romp on it in SA

I took it out one time after the TJ flares and TRIED to hit, came close in some spots but over all I clear fine. PS: I've only taken the hard top off this summer, and I used to have a bunch of crap in the back, with a heavy a$$ speaker box

At first I hated body lifts, but now I have 1" BL and 1" MML on both my jeeps and love them. They are relatively cheap LCG lift and you can do a near flat skid plate with them. I think you should take another look.

When the RE XD lifts came out they were supposed to be the best. I started with the RE 2.5" XD for my 31's. After a few months they rubbed on the street. After a year of putting up with the rubbing I upgraded to the RE 4.5" XD. According to RE they changed the manufacturing process to eliminate reports of sag. It took 2 or 3 months for my 31" Procomp MT's to rub with the 4.5" lift. I didn't bother calling them back. The RE customer service is only marginally better than Mastercraft.
I made the decision to go SOA. After lots of reading and calling around I went with Alcan's. Never happier. They ride great. No sag in about 2yrs. Buying RE was alot like putting money into a D35 :flamejump

WCJP, if I didn't know better, I'd say you and I are the same person! This is just about the exact route I took, and ended up with! It's easy in hindsight to say we should have just bit the bullet and done the SOA up front but live and learn I suppose :)
And yes, I too have experienced the evil RE customer service. Never again.

i have the re springs and like them. the sag is a benefit IMO. you keep a low center of gravity, and get great flex.
to each their own i soppose.
now, their customer service on the other hand. it must be the WORST in the industry. they appear to simply not even like their customers, let alone want to keep them.
if they had service, their product would look better.
