First off thanks everyone for the advice on where/how to mount em up, i've had these Bilstien's laying in the garage for almost 8 months while i conintued to run the DOG $HIT 4" lift procrap ES1000's in the rear simply cause i was too lazy to fab up some mounts for it. Well after tearing one of the frame mounts off last weekend at billings i got motivated and picked up some Ford F250 shock towers for $12 each at the dealer and fabbed them up to work in my applications. I mounted them ontop of the frame with the shocks outboarded as much as possible to help provide the most stabilty for my full width set up.

I was told that the farther out i can mount them on the axle tube the better, and i also found out that the more vertical i can keep the more usefull they'll be, so for my set up the best way to anchor them to the axle was to weld on a stud so they could be inline with the mounts above. While i was at it, i built some new bump stops as well since the factory ones weren't quite cutting it. Here's the pics:

Wally what is the reasoning for placing the shock mount on the back of the axle tube instead of on top?

looking good, i would have probably mounted the shock in the front of the axle instead

alsoi i think you need to brace the ford shock tower

a lot of the yota guys rip theirs off mounted this way without bracing

LOVE THE STEERING

TTT, how is this setup working for you? I think i read you were on a ride, so i may have to wait til the end of the week.

Well i had to do some minor changes, once i tested it out, the tires were hitting the shock at full stuff so i moved the shock mounts ontop of the axle tube and ended up using some old shock mounts, otherwise it's been AWSOME. I"ve been out wheeling probably 18-20 times since then and no issues, not sure if you can see or not, but they're no longer on the back of the axle tube

Wally,

Any changes as far as wheel hop when you punch it on a steep incline.

Nope she's still bouncy bouncy like a set of natural D Cups jumping rope in a bikini top :D

I see a linked rear axle with a 105ish wheel base in the future :jj:
