Intercom for driver/passenger communication

Has anyone done a intercom radio system in their jeep for driver/passenger communication? I was looking into something like is done in racing or in airplanes.

I'd like to be able to talk to the people in my jeep, hear the CB, and maybe even listen to the radio with the top down driving out to our local desert for some wheeling (about an 1 1/2 hr drive).

I was looking at used aviation intercom systems on Ebay, and it seems like it wouldn't cost too much, would that work? Any help would be great,

I thought about this myself. i was thinking something like for helicopters, i looked into it and remember the headsets cost the most. I was thinking you could probably do a closed system with some kinda amp or soemthing.
