I'm gonna go ahead and recommend the DT3000s because for me they ride real nice and I got them for an excellent price ($130 for 4 shipped).
A lot of people will recommend the RS9000 though and say the DT3000 sucks. If you plan to go the RS9000 route you might as well get OMEs, those are proabably the best available.

I'm running DT3000s with my 3.5 BDS and I highly recommend them. They're a great shock for the money.
micfly83,
Where did you find them for that price??

i was on the search last night looking at shocks specifically ranchos bilsteins and dt 3000. people like the ranchos to start out with but hate them when the need to be replaced a year later. the bilstein 5150 are great but cost an arm and a leg. and the dt3000 didn't have anything bad said about them just people liked them not necessarliy outstanding shocks bit the best ones for the money.
just the impression that i got from the other post. no personal experience

There ya go. I was a little off by the price. I thought sure my final cost was $130. They list there for around $134, and I don't think thats with shipping. Not bad at all though considering you'll spend near $300 for anything else.

Yep - you'll find all sorts of info. :)
For those who may have had problems with their Ranchos, they do have a Limited Lifetime Warranty which isn't too bad.
Of the thousands upon thousands of Rancho shocks I sold when I worked for Keith & Gene Shook (original owners of Rancho), we had very few returns. If a shock was shipped back to us broke, leaking etc - we simply shipped another out with almost never questions asked. Granted this was a long time ago - but the warranty they have in place now seems fair.

I run the RS9000's (5 way adjustable) on my POS. They've been on it for ~3 years mounted can up with zero problems.

I want to get the 9000's but I was told that there is not a application for a YJ with a 3.5" lift.
Is there?

RS9000 versus DT3000??
That's like comparing apples to oranges isn't it??
The RS9000 shocks are adjustable and much more expensive.
The RS5000 shocks are a standard Rancho shock much like DT3000 is the standard shock for Doetsch Tec. Both these standard shocks are going to be cheaper than any adjustable rated shock.
Personally...I used to run Ranchos and I now call them RONCHOS.
I run DT Prerunner shocks now.
Hello,
I want to get the 9000's but I was told that there is not a application for a YJ with a 3.5" lift.
Here's one page with some Rancho shock specs. Rancho's site has some more complete pdf files but I remember last time it took a while to find the file with just specs rather than popular applications.

Just measure what you need. Do a search and you'll find some sites that help you with that.
Changing shocks is a good time to consider shock hoop extensions for the front, and rear extensions brackets.

For my application, the DT 3000's were too soft on the street. Needed adjustability of the Rancho's. No problem otherwise with the DT's.
