Hey has anyone used or is using AMSOIL synthetic motor oil or any of their other products?

I was thinking of starting to use a synthetic motor oil such as AMSOIL or anything else that seems to be good. AMSOIL also recommends using their engine flush which is supposed to clean out the sludge before using their oil to get the best results.

Has anyone used this engine flush and does it work? GOOD/BAD for your engine?
And what type of Amsoil synthetic motor oil is anyone using.. ie. 0W-30, 5W-30?

I appreciate any input on Amsoil or anyother synthetics people have found to be beneficial. And I would really like to know about that engine flush if anyone used it.

I use amsoil in my wifes car. Have done so since new. I don't think I would run anything in a used motor to clean it out before using their oil. I did this once with another product and it cleaned it alright and never ran good after that. New fine used not so good. Just me.

I run Amsoil in my YJ and in my XJ. I used the engine flush when I first switched over to Amsoil. I didn't see where it hurt the engine any. I can't say it made any improvements either. I would say it's your call on the engine flush. As far as the Amsoil oil itself, I would highly recommend it. The nice thing about Amsoil is that it has a lot of additives in it to help everything running smoothly and to keep the system clean. I think it is equally important to have a good filter. I also run Amsoil oil filters. I change the oil in my Jeeps once a year and the filter every 6 months. I put about 10-12K miles per year on the XJ and about 4-5K miles per year on the YJ. I use 10W-30 oil in the YJ and 5W-30 oil in the XJ. I also run an Amsoil performance air filter in the XJ (YJ has a K&N).

I could probably give you more information if you have more specific questions. I could also give you the email address of my dealer if you wanted more information on the engine flush. He's not pushy or anything, so I'm sure he would be willing to answer any questions without trying to get you to buy from him. Just PM me if you want more info.

I've used Amsoil products in my diesels for years and will continue to do so.
I'll change over my Jeep front to back this spring. I've always had good results with their products.

OK I will pick some up and change over. I just don't know whether to get the regular 10W-30, XL-7500 10W-30 or the Series 2000 0W-30.

And of course I am still not sure whether or not to run the engine flush.

Anyone else run that stuff?

I heard some people say running a synthetic motor oil in a vehicle that is 10yrs old really doesn't make a difference.

I figured it cost about as much as I'm spending now on Catrol GTX since I will drain it at intervals twice as long and saves me an oil change.
Plus it reduces our dependency on foreign oil.
And if it has any added lubricating and other benefits than thats good too.
