Ok, after searching and reading I think I have a list of all necessary parts needed for a proper lift (apx. 3"):
New leaf springs
new shocks
new shackles
transfer case lowering kit
a CV driveshaft??
something about non-yoke driveshaft??
new lower pitman arm
new longer brake lines
new longer sway bar mounting rods
Is that all?
Why dont they just sell a 3" kit that has all necessary parts?
Also, what brand do you guys recommend and where's the best price?

welcome to the board. search function is very helpful when it works. dont worry though, jeeps are pretty easy to get in to and learn about when you got "the bug"
there are so many lift kits out there. 2', 2.5', 3', 3.5" ETC.
search for bds, rubicon express, old man emu (very expensive but very good), sky jacker, rustys, rough country, 4wd hardware. go to quadratec.com and order a free catalog too while you are at it.

I suggest doing the Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE) first. You are bound to go higher then 3" eventually - get it done now, it will save you in the future. Then get your CV Driveshaft and you don't need the t-case loweing kit.
For the short term, if money is tight, you can drive your Jeep in front wheel drive for short distances if the SYE is done with no rear driveshaft.

It might help to do some more homework. Theres a lot to learn about your Jeep. Try not to get in a big hurry until U figure out what U want long term.
If your just gona lift it only, most kits come with brake line extention, trac bar relocator, shackles, shocks, and t-case low kit. Not sure about pitman arm. U CAN piece it togeather yourself with costom parts, but I think some kits have these things.
If U dont go over 3.5 inches U should be fine with all that, but if U go extreme later you'll have to redo some things.
Like I said earlier, the T-case is the focal point. U can't change the d-line without changing the t-case. What happens is, if u get much over your 3.5 " lift, U will probably start getting [ the good'ol jeep vibe ]. This is because the 231 t-case has a slip-yoke connection where the driveline fits into the t-case. Notice I said [fits into]. Thats where the d-line moves back and forth. Not very strong. [ I've broken one ]. A c/v has the yoke in the tube and bolts directly to the t-case. Eliminates vibes.
This means you'll have to buy an SYE and a new C/V. If you'r gona do that, U might as well put in a 4 to 1 kit. In english that means about $1800!
Might as well buy an Atlas ll. Ect. ect. ect. This is the [joy] of owning a Jeep! [lol]
Staying under 3.5" U should be OK, but know what U want long term.
OBTW... you should invest in some sway bar disconnects, too.

P.S. You'r gona cross this road anyway, so my choise of tire...
