Sorry for the delay in responding guys. :o: I've been floating around at sea in the Pacific Ocean since Monday & just returned to San Diego this afternoon. This will be my last time at sea as a service member!! :D :D I retire in 12 more days!! :D :D
Boy, do I need a beer, or 2 or 3. :D :D :beerchug:
Crewmembers screwed around with the Torpedo Tube Launcher while I observed, and we cruised past the new aircraft carrier USS Ronald Regan (CVN-76) when we pulled into port this afternoon. :)
Back on topic...Wally, I'll be starting my vacation August 13th, so I doubt I'll make that run. I want to hit southern Nevada & Moab for a few days before I make it your way. My schedule is written in mud right now, but should become more certain in a few more days. :D

Basically, it's just a barrier to help keep small craft away from the carriers. It doesn't offer alot of protection, but if crossed - you can pretty much bet that you'll be confronted by various security folks & have to explain some things.

There's a couple extra, but they are very similar or almost exactly what the others look like. :)
I hope to visit the wood shop again soon. :D :D

Yeah... they have the same thing at most of lakes now up in the Sierra Nat. forest. Only about 20 ft. from the Dams. Supposed to keep a boat from crashing into the Dam and blowing it up! Riiiiight. Only about a foot in diameter. Our tax dollars hard at work!
Anyway... congrats on being short 12 [or 11 by now ]! Thanx for your service. Sincerly.

If your coming thru Flagstaff, AZ I have a nice tough trail 1 hour / 45 minutes south of there. Let me know If you would like to hook up.

Let us know. I would love to have you out to 600 acres, or even the Badlands for a day of wheeling. I can't guarantee how many people would make the trek to 600 acres (surely a few would) but I can all but guarantee you that you would meet quite a handfull of us if you decided to pass through Attica, Indiana for a day of wheeling.
Wherever your trip takes you, be careful out there. As dangerous as your deployments may have been lo' these many years , nothing can equal the danger lurking on our very own highways. :) Be careful, and I hope your travels take you through "fly over" country. :):)

Hey Joe, if you make it this far east I'll show you a few of the local mudholes and raise a few beers to help you celebrate your retirement.

Greg,
I doubt I'll make it as far as you guys are. I'll probably go as far as MO/St. Louis, near to where my Dad lives. I'll probably start my vacation trip ~the 13/14th of August. I'd like to meet up with Brad again too in MO(HellBender). He owns Tough Stuff Products. :) GREAT guy & he lives close to my Dad.
LeadFoot,
Thanks for the invite, but I'll likely not go as far east as you guys. :)
Craig,
I don't think it will be in my cards this trip. Thanks for the invite. :)
Jim,
I'll have to pass this time. But I'll shurly toss a few brews to celebrate! :D :D :beerchug:
So far, I expect to do some trails in southern Nevada, Northern AZ, Moab, & as many as possible in Colorado! The rest of the trip is still open but I'll probably stay mostly west of Illinois. But who knows, I don't have a wife to put a crimp in short-fused plans. LOL :D :D
