View Full Version : What to do with the head of the Snorkel when it rains??

i just installed and ARB Snorkel in my '93 YJ and i was wondering what to do with the head of the Snorkel when it rains??? Do i leave it facing forward or to i spin it so it faces backwards???..i have no clue i e-mailed ARB 5 times and they never got back to me??...Does anyone know?? What do you do with yours???

they are designed to not take in water. i've never had a problem with mine. i run in backwards in the winter and offroad to keep it from getting clogged with ice and mud though.

I've seen the opening facing backwards in magazines before. Thats all I can say.

dont worry about the rain i have been in a good deal of rain and even in a car wash and it doesnt suck in the water. just when it snows you should turn it around, i did go out in the snow and it clogs the snorkel head when it snows.

it is designed so any water that gets into the snorkel drains at the bottom of it before it goes up into the throttle body.

i'm not familiar with the yj one particularly but any other ones i've ever seen have had trap-like setups that actually catch the water and drain it so it doesn't get into your engine.
