Hey everyone,
I just recently acquired my dad's '87 YJ with the 2.5L four banger. One problem it had was a blown out exhaust manifold gasket which was the result of two missing bolts on the manifold. I bought a new gasket and tore everything apart to fix it, however some of the holes in the exhaust manifold will not line back up with the holes in the head. It has been run for some time with this leaking maniflod and I am curious if the exhaust manifold could have warped or shrunk in any way from not having all of the proper bolts in place. It was a bit snug when I removed it and it really appears as if the whole thing has contracted (or shrunk up). What do you think? Could this actually happen? TIA
