Ok, i bought a performance accessories 1" body lift from Quadrasuck.com, and came up with a few questions inbetween reading the instructions and breaking two 5/8" sockets trying to get the bolts off....

1. It says I need to remove the steering shaft, and lengthen it, do i really need to ?

2. Do i need to trim the heat shield above the muffler to allow the exhaust hanger to be lowered ?

3. Do i really need to loosen the plastic fuel filler hose ?

4. Do i really need to cut the transfer case shifter and weld a 1/2" extension onto it ?

5. and do I really need to do all the other stuff besides put the radiator extender brackets, new body pucks, and the new hardware on ? Or are the instructions crap ?

This set of instructions is nothing but bullsh!t!!!!! :bsflag: :headpop: They included a list of parts for the 3", and 2" lift kits, but not the 1". That and there is a bracket in here that is not on the list.

Thanks in advance,
Alex

On my 89 4cyl 5spd yj I put custom aluminum 1 1/2" pucks in and I needed to do nothing else but swap in the pucks w/ new bolts, fan even cleared the fan shroud w/ no problem.

I didnt do any of that on my 94 YJ. I have the same BL. I didnt have any problems like you are having. I did spray some PB blaster on all of the body mounts a couple times a day for a few days before I did the install. I think that this may have helped.

Good luck
Tom

I'm using a 1.25" BL and have no issues. The only thing I recommend is loosening the radiator shroud before starting. Don't bolt it down to it's new location until complete.
