My YJ rides like crap, I'm using BDS shocks, I've been told they are basically the same as a Rancho 5000 so my question is if I put the OME shocks on is my ride going to improve right now the thing Jolts alot, what other shocks could I look at, I want a high quality shock.

I'm not running any swaybar or trac bars so they can't be too soft.

If you have the $ to spent go adjustable or even remote resavoir if you want the best ride

well who makes a good adjustable shock then, I'm assuming I can probably get an adjustable for the price of the OME shocks?

What kind of lift are you running? BDS? Try some DT3000s. That's what I have and my 3.5" of lift with MORE shackles rides similar to stock.

when was the last time you got on the trail and really flexed your springs out? I don't know enough about BDS shocks so can't say how they compare to 5000s.

but

when my jeep is kept in town too long(especially during a wet winter), it gets tempermental which means the springs rust and don't flex very well. As soon as I get it offroad and really flex the springs(or spray silicone between the spring pack), it softens up considerably. Another suggestion is to make sure your shackles aren't too tight. overtightening the shackles will cause friction against the spring eyes and hangers which may also cause a bumpy ride.

you know...i noticed the same thing after paragon on saturday. that was the first time i really got out and flexed the thing to the extents and noticed a much softer ride on the way home. but i'd think you woulda done that when you were up there on sunday :brows: . granted its still got a rough ride...let me know what you find out, since we got pretty much the same setup....

Did some more research, and yeah I flex it out a plenty :brows: Shocks arn't gonna help I was told the BDS springs are just kinda stiff, but they still flex well, its looking like I'm just gonna be saving up for the OME kit but that is gonna be a while, I've got a lot of wedding debt I gotta get outta first, oh well, at least it still wheels well.
