I know some people go ahead a replace that with a 4x4 Posi Lock. I'd like to know how easy is it really to break those short lines? I assume articulating would break them before anything else. I might be wrong, just guessing. Thanks

are you talking about the cable, if so, when you install the posi-lok system you are suppossed to leave plenty of slack in the cable so when you flex it does not get pulled tight.... hope thats what you were asking about

Actually Im refering to the vaccume lines already there(stock). When flexing, is it easy to break them? I haven't yet but I dont know how much slack they have.

they will pull off of the shift motor before breaking. go in the engine bay and find the line. u can reroute it to have more slack for the flexing.
If the lines are old and brittle, then they break easy. Otherwise, they are pretty durable. Their vulnerability to breaking due to being over-stretched is related to the amount of lift and articulation you have. The stock vacuum lines generally have a fair amount of play and can accommodate a fair amount of stretch.

Mine just split long ways. They were looking a little brittle this summer and they recently gave out. I think that the extreme cold here in Husker land did it. Can't wait till June to get back to Georgia.
