I tried search, but it sucks.
I need about 2" more on my Jeep so that I don't rub flares so much. I'm thinking of going with full length AALs with 3" in front and 2" in rear. My fronts sag like a mofo because of the winch, so I'd need more help up there.
Is this a bad idea or...?

I have aal's and i like them...it's a good way to lift cheap...although it will make the ride slightly stiffer.

How tough was the install?
How long do they usually last before hardcore saggage? I'm looking to keep them for about 16 months before getting a "real" lift.

Don't waste your money on AAL's if you're thinking about buying a REAL LIFT.
Save your money and buy the REAL LIFT sooner.

I got a full set of rancho aal's, paid $80 for a used set that was never used. The hardest part was sanding down the old leaves and repainting them for the aal's. Its not hard to do at all, it does ride a little stiff but its not too bad and for the price it cant be beat. I had no driveline issues after putting the aal's in. I did it cause I didn't have the money for the OME 2.5" lift and was not sure if I would want more lift to run 35's+ tires but the aals would work great w/ stock springs for SOA for when/if I go bigger. I am very happy w/ my lift though and will end up probably getting some OME springs in the future.

Well repo, let me know when you switch the springs. I'll buy the ones w/ aal off of you.
