 Here is where the leak is: At the rubber hose that meets the solid line by the left rear tire...and...where the rubber hose meets the fuel filter, in both places it leaks about a drop every two seconds. It's enough that is puddles in a few minutes on the ground. The jeep runs just fine so it's getting fuel. It has been very cold here for the past twenty four hours (low teens). I can't tell if it's clogged anywhere cause the vehicle is running fine...It has been a while since I replaced my filter. The connections seem to be solid and the hoses are connected to the solid line. The jeep is a 95 YJ. Before I run all over town looking for parts to replace what do you think it might be?

did you check to ensure they are properly seated and the hose clamps are tight.

If there are no hose clamps, pushe the hose on all the way and add some

I have to replace both of those rubber sections about every two years. Mine suffer from dry rot, and crack at the bends. Mine is leaking badly there now again. and it's always teh winter taht brings the leaks. i think teh cold air shrinks the rubber and opens the cracks more.

Just replace them. More than likely, yours are cracked too. Just be careful. There is two different size tubing that is used. I believe the hose that runs into the filter is larger than the the one exiting the filter. If you haven't done it in a few years, it's a good time to replace the filter as will.

Mine started leaking there on sunday when it got REALLY cold here. i crawled under it, removed the cover from the filter, loosened the hose clamp at the filter where it was leaking, and pushed hard on the hose to make sure it was pressed in tightly against the filter while tightening the hose clamp. Hasn't leaked since.

replace the rubbers. I just did this last week and found out while I was changing my filter that I needed new rubber lines. I replaced them for $1.39 and went back a couple days later and replaced the whole line just because I bent it when I hit the metal with a wrench and didn't feel comfortable with it dented.
Anyway though, for $1.39 a foot, the fuel line hoses are cheep to at least create a starting point from.

Mine is in the rear passenger fender. I removed the rubber covering the fender. I cut the actual sender or filter or whatever it was right where the leak was. I then put a new hose clamp on and placed the unit back into the hose. I then closed the clamp tight and it fixed the problem. Not sure if it's the same issue you have, but it seems similar. It would leak out gas after the vehicle was shut off. Usually about 15 or so drops.. it was quite a bit.

There was a point I forgot to mention, when I turn the engine off the dripping stops completely, probably because no fuel is moving through the line. Does anyone know how big the fuel line hose is or is a standard size? I think I will replace the fuel filter and if you can let me know about the hose I will buy some of that as well. I did notice that it does not have hose clamps rather these weird little push or simple clamp things that fit around the hose. It has gotten old though and the leaks are happening right where the rubber meets the metal. Previous post mentions two different sizes, do you know the sizes or hoses for this application?

my 94 was leaking when i bought it, and it was just dry rot in those same little two pieces of hose. If i remeber it was standard 5/8 fuel line. But Ive heard you may want high pressure rubber fuel line, not sure. I used the regular stuff and its still ok.

Don't quote me on this, but i beleve its either 7/16 or 3/4 of an inch and the hose is about 3" long. I would have to go back and take a look at the bottom of my jeep, but when you remove your old one, just take that piece to the parts store and show them that. You would end up cutting the hose to size anyways. Since your jeep is a 95, don't forget to reave the fuel pressure at the fuel pressure relief valve. Hope my info's been helpful. Good luck.:beerchug:

Go buy your filter, and use that while your at the store to gage what size line you need. I'm tellin you, each end uses a different size. Buy 6-8" of each size that you need, or a foot of each, then you'll have enough to do it again when you need it.

Buy Fuel injection line. It's tougher, and lasts longer.

Thats' the return line. After you shut it off, YJ's relieve the pressure in the fuel rail by letting some of the fuel run back into the tank. TJ's maintain their pressure even after shutting it down. (Useless info, I know)

These other guys are leaking at the supply line. It only leaks when the system is under pressure, when the fuel pump is on.

I'm going to remove my filter all together and splice in an inline one right before the fuel rail. That will eliminate the bends in the rubber line that always seem to dry rot.

Weeelll I stopped off at Pep Boys on the way home and picked up a fuel filter and hose clamps went home broke out the tools set up a heater in the driveway (it's 22 degrees and clear here today) took the old filter out surveyed the hoses and they looked just fine, put the new filter in clamped all the hoses and she's good as new!!!! And I got a ton of new right pedal when I took it for a drive, the filter must have been clogged good! Thanks for all your help and the quick responses. I'm outta hereee Go Eagles!
