View Full Version : Christmas Tools Time!
Ok, I figure Christmas is coming around, so it's time to sucker my girlfriend into buying me some cool stuff for my '94 YJ :clapping:
One thing I'd really like is a decent set of tools. I have mix and match crap for the most part, so I'd really like a nice case that I can try to keep together.
I'm thinking Craftsman, around $200 - $300 for price. I go to their web page and there are tons of different sets!
Someone enlighten me please. What set is the best bang for my buck??

Craftsman is the way to go. I have a small set i paid about $150 for. I have rarely needed anything i dont have. I have a compressor and a collection of air tools also. And a good set of torx bits

I just saw that Sears has two "boxed" sets on sale. One is a 167 piece and it was going for $149, the other was a 151 piece and was going for $99. These were both in plastic cases that have a spot for each tool.
I have a ton of tools at home in my large toolbox, but I am thinking I am going to go pick up the $99 set to keep in the jeep.

Sears had this 254 pc. Mechanics Tool Set (http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00933354000[) on sale a while back for $199. It's a really nice kit!!

Must be nice, my wife usually ends up buying me stuff to make the jeep look nice, like seat covers and such. I wish she would get me the things I really want like a winch, tires and lockers.... oh well guess I just buy them myself huh.

Gearwrench (ratching combo wrenches). Those and mechanics gloves are the best things ever.
