Trans. problems.

I have the AX5 trans in my YJ and it has multiple problems. I was hoping someone would know the problem(s)

1. trans sometimes gets stuck in 1st gear.
2. grinds/ does not want to go into 2nd gear. (if i pump the clutch 2x it goes in fine)
3. grinds going into 3rd.
4. Jeep shakes a little when taking off from a stop. (clutch slipping?)

any ideas of the problem(s)? My guess is clutch and synco's.

I did the clutch change and pressure plate. No good. Get a re-built. It will cost less in the end, I changed the master cylinder and slave all and all I ended up replacing the trrany $1400 later all is good again.
You can get a re-built for about 650 and install it yourself.
I should have done that in the first place.

Yeah, Im planning on a complete rebuild. I found a guy to rebuild it for me for $200. If anyone needs contact info let me know. I just cant figure out what thing or things would cause the trans to act the way it does. Oh well, always something! What brand clutch did you use? Also, are you happy with it?
