I'm looking to replace my ax5 transmission with a new one. And due to lack of money i need to do it my self.
Does anyone have a guide or a write up on the swap?
Im looking at a friday and saturday to do this.
any special tools or tricks that i would be need would be helpfull

i have changed ax5's so many times i can do it in about 4 hours by myself with only hand tools.
Just consider changing your clutch why your in there.
No special tools. Just normal bolts.
Take the shifters off, drop the d-shafts & skid plate. Unhook your CPS, slave cylinder, speedo cable, & breather. Drain t-case & tranny. Unbolt the bellhousing and slide Everything back. You will probably have to unbolt your exaust at the collector too.
you can leave the t-case bolted to the tranny, it actually helps balance the tranny on the jack.

Try to get a trany jack to go on your floor jack helps a lot
