Has anyone taken out the bottom/short leaf in their Pro-Crap leaf spring to soften up the ride? (I have the 2.5" leafs with 2.5L AX5)

You can do that with any brand. You'll give up some spring rate to soften them up, but then you're giving up lift and they sag faster. I've seen 4" Pro Comps sag to less then 2" in about a year before, not sure it would be a good thing to help that process along
I wouldn't recommend it. Even with a full pack, they will eventually start sagging with a lot of use. I always thought they were pretty soft for a lift spring...

Thanks for the replies. Is there a high friction paint or finish that I could use to redo the spring packs? The leaves are looking rusty and the ride has gotten even stiffer lately.

If you are gonna take them apart, you might as well leave all the leafs in there, and just paint them, and put teflon pads in between the leafs. That'll let them operate more smoothly.
