I have the 2.5" BDS Suspension (4wd Hardware kit actually) and the MORE Boomerang shackles. All of a sudden now its riding real rough, I've had the lift on probably for about 1500 miles now. What gives? Its riding like it did with the original factory suspension did with over 100k miles on it. ANy ideas why or what to do to soften it up?? Thanks

How tight at the bolts to the shackles? Also can you grease them? I hear that if the bolts are too tight or no grease they will make the suspension tight because no flex.

They're greased and the bolts are to MORE's torque specs.

The specs on the bolts are probably too tight. I"ve read a lot of people who torque them less in order to let them move a little easier without jeopordizing safety.... Might be something worth looking into.

I'll check it out, just put a fresh shot of grease into the zerks so i'll see what happens there, if it doesn't improve i'll loosen it up a bit.

Just an FYI...the rumors are wrong, BDS and 4WD are not the same....Very very similar but not the same :agree: :agree:

Some folks are so into looking pretty they're scared to squirt oil on the moving parts. Grease is good but if you soak your leaves with some WD or CLR and then hit it with oil, it will "wick" the oil into every cranny and you'll notice a difference. As long as your not worried about folks seeing oil drip off your shackles and stuff for a few days.

MORE specs are already VERY loose. I would not run any looser than MORE specs on their shackles. I used my torque wrench and did mine to spec.... and was surprised that they dont get em very tight.

If your just started doing this.... and you had any grease on your shackles at all, then I would not suspect them. Besides, you can just jump on your front bumper and see if they are moving anyway to tell if they are frozen.

I would suspect a bad shock first and foremost... my BDS/MORE combo rides great here.

The torque specs on those are pretty high - aroung 175ft lbs.

I've had my rear trackbar off for a few months now. It didn't effect handling at all, but it made the ride so much better. I just took the plunge and took of the front one, and it gave my jeep a slight lean in the corners, but not nearly as bad as say..a chevy lumina. It is nothing serious at all, just a little lean compared to the always perfectly level norm. It also increased the ride quality. I can kneel on the front bumper, and it moves! The rear is still pretty stiff, because I have an add-a-leaf, but not untolerable for a die-hard.

Wow...that was a long way to say take off your track bars!:bangnerd:

Yep... I was nervous about taking off the tracbars. Everyone said too, and some even drive without swaybars.

Well, I took everything off, and I could tell for sure. But I still drove around like that for two weeks, and while it was annoying, it didnt feel real dangerous.

However, then I connected the sway bars back up on the front, and it is heavenly. So I got quick discos.

Trackbars are gone, and I can tell at all. Good riddance.

But, that aint your problem..... or most likely aint. Assuming you have tracbar relocation brackets. Now, some lifts arent coming with these, and thats a big mistake because the tracbar (if connected) "pulls" your axle to one side, because once a lift is installed it is no longer the correct length, and this will tear your shackle bushings all to hell.

I have driven for a couple of years now without the rear trackbar and the swaybar in the front disco'ed. I just tied the the swaybar up with a zip tie. I think it runs great and feels about as cushy as it ever will. That is until I do a shackle reversal this winter!

how are the shocks that come with that kit?? Could they be bad already cause they're junk? Or what??

Shackles should only be snugged, not torqued...
