OK, got all 3 clamps off of it holding it on. However.... there is too much overlap between the muffler and the cat and from the header to the cat to slide out. Once I max out one side, it still need to go farther. Example: I tried moving muffler back to pull off the converter. However, after so far, the muffler/pipe combo hits the track bar, thus not letting me slide it far back enough to pull them apart. Any ideas???

take the exhaust pipe off and pull the cat forward. I managed to take mine out with the pipe attached but needed the muffler and tailpipe out to do it. PITA though.

I always default to a cutting torch, but in this case a good old clean cutting sawzall.

When I changed out my exhaust on my '95 I just had to cut the stuff out.

Leadfoot,
It depends on why you're removing the cat. Are you replacing it with another, or just installing a straight piece of pipe in its place?
If you are just installing a straight pipe, use a hack saw or sawzall to cut the cat out just ahead and behind it wherever it's convenient. Then measure for your pipe. If you are replacing the cat, I'd remove the interfering track bar and toss it in the trash. Kill two birds with one stone.
