Hey Jeepers,
I just put in an Alpine Type E 10inch(200 watts) sub in a Type 1 box powered by a MTX Thunder202(200 watts rms bridged). The box is a small hatchbox box so the front is angled upwards slightly and I currently have it facing the trunk. So the sub itself...is facing right out the top of the trunk. If I were to turn the box around and have it fire at the back seat...would it be louder?? The angle of the box is almost perfect for the angle of the back seat. I was wondering if this would help teh sound loss.

Do you have a soft top? If so it will be hard to get good sound out of one sub. I would run it with the speaker facing forward. It won't make it "louder", but it will seem louder because the sound is now directed at you, not having to bounce off the tailgate/back window to get to you. The best setup for a soft top (so I have been told anyway) is to have the subs fire downward (toward the gas tank). Here is a sketch of the box I have in my YJ right now.

The little notch in the upper right corner is to clear the tailgate latch. I run 2 12" subs in this box and it sounds awesome. It fits right behind the rear seat. It is pretty safe too because the only way to get it out is to open the tailgate. The box is such a tight fit that you cannot fold the rear seat because it hits the box which hits the tailgate.

you need to put it on legs and face it straight down to the floor...it will vibrate the jeep which will increase to fullness if the bass ...thats what every car place told me and every one thats have one in their jeep has told me and that what i'm going to do here in a couple of weeeks
