i am going to look at a black '92 4 cyl.....it has 33k miles on it....completely stock.....adult (43) woman owned......asking 6500 for it......from appearances of the pics, it looks great...what i am wondering is if there are any known issues with the 92, or maybe any trouble spots that i should pay attention to...thanks in advance

Other than the stupid internal slave cylinder that is present if it is a 5 speed, it should be a nice jeep. This isnt a big enough problem not to buy a jeep, but if the slave blows, you have to pull the tranny to fix it.
And for an 11 year old YJ, that price is more than I would pay for it. I would probably offer $5k. That is very low miles, but the 4 cyl and 6 cyl engines are capable of 150k+ miles without any major problems. So a higher mileage vehicle for cheaper would not be a bad idea either.

Kelley Blue Book Price
KBB.com
Engine: 4-Cyl. 2.5 Liter
Trans: 5 Speed Manual
Drive: 4 Wheel Drive
Mileage: 33,000

Consumer Rated Condition: Excellent
"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks great, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. It should pass a smog inspection. The engine compartment should be clean, with no fluid leaks. The paint is glossy and the body and interior are free of any wear or visible defects. There is no rust. The tires are the proper size and match and are new or nearly new. A clean title history is assumed. This is an exceptional vehicle.
Private Party Value $4,450
Private Party value represents what you might expect to pay for a used car when purchasing from a private party. It may also represent the value you might expect to receive when selling your own used car to another private party.

6500 seems a little high. I paid that for my '92 6cyl but it did have 80K miles.
Personally if would get something cheaper and with a 6cyl, even if it did have a few more miles.

Price being reasonable depends on where you live, and how much Jeeps sell for there, just be sure to check out a few other jeeps, just to see how prices are going. I know out here in the desert low milage good condition jeeps, hold there value extreamly well.
I have the 6 in mine, and only 31's but 33's and stock gearing might make it alittle less perfect, but it would still be drivable (I don't really have any experience with 4cyl though)

Good advice here. Shop around before you commit to it, the price sounds high to me too. I got my 1992 Sahara 6 cyl. for that price it was 100% stock, origional owner and had 69k on it.
As far as known issues:
Check and see if the catalytic converter is on it's way out.
Check and see if it has the stock plastic/metal piece of crap radiator
Look for rust (floorboards...etc)
see what receipts the owner has for services done to it
Once i picked mine up i had the build sheet for it sent to me which informed me of 2 recalls my Jeep needed.
