Im from the xj forum but my girlfriend has a yj. She is looking for a lift for her 95 wrangler, 2.5 liter. She doesnt want to change gears yet so she only wants to run 32's. I run the RE 5.5 xj kit and my dad has the 5.5 tjla kit so we know rubicon express makes good stuff. So i guess the question is what more would she need to run 32's with the RE 2.5, or does anybody have any pics of a yj with the 4 inch kit and 32's. Thanx for any input.

4 in lift and 32's

It's actually three inch springs and 2 in shackles. I hate the shackles but without them I was rubbing. I'g go with the RE4.5 and stock shackles if I was you or a SOA, thats what I'm getting ready for. But man she'd better be a good GF for a SOA

I have a 3" lift and 32's just rubbed the rear flares. I have since added a 1" BL/MML and know that I can clear 33's easily. My 2.5L was a mutt on the hwy with 32's. Any small headwind or a hill and I had to downshift to 4th. I ended up regearing to 4.88's, now everything is fine. Wish I would have gone 33's in the first place.
See my www for pics.

Ive got the RE2.5 Its a great lift if you want to run 31"s, but anything larger, and you will want the 4.5" I wish I would have just gone ahead and gotten it. Oh well. Otherwise, its a great lift, everything including extended brake lines are in the kit. Good luck.
I'd get the 4 1/2" RE ED. I've said it before but its a kick ass suspension system. It worked really well with my short 33's (TSL radials--measured about 32"). It also did not look ungainly with 31" Mud Terrains. And besides allowing the use of larger rubber, this suspension flat works.
FWIW
--edited to be sure to point out I'm talking about the Extreme Duty suspension here, NOT the regualr 4" one.:)
I'd check out OME or BDS lift. Both of my RE XD lifts sagged (2.5" & 4.5").

33s will clear fine with an 2.5" RE ED lift, and 1" BL, if you mount TJ style flares at least in the rear. I have flexed it to its limits with no rubbing.

Sounds easier just to put a RE4.5 lift.

"Sounds easier just to put a RE4.5 lift"
Not necessarily. The extra lift creates steering and driveline issues, and its not an "elegant" way to clear 33" tires. Why do 4.5" if you don't need that much lift? Most guys will not take the time to do the driveline right with a 4.5 (or any lift for that matter), so they end up with a big transfer case drop to avoid excess u-joint angles. With my 1" BL, I raised the transfer case to allow installation of a high clearance skid, so even though I only have 2.5" suspension lift, my break over angle is usually as good as most guys with 4.5" lift.
Besides, if I installed a 4.5" lift, couldn,t get it in my garage or the parking deck at work!!!
With a 4.5" lift, I can clear 35" tires. TJ flares are the way to go for tire clearance.

Beware....."standard" duty RE springs are Pro-comps... If your going RE, get the extreme duty ones...

Thanx for all the qwuick replys. I would love to go soa on it and she would let me but she doesnt have the stock suspension. Her jeep is a 95 and its used. She bought as the third owner and it already has a lift on it. It looks like it has an old pro comp lift, and like its been lifted with the same lift for 8 years. So i am really looking for something to compleatly change everything. It looks like we are going to go with the RE 4.5 XD and 32's. Oh BTW is there anywhere to get a stock sized shackle for cheap?

Here are some old pics of my YJ with the 2.5" lift, .75" shackles, 1" body lift, rear buggy springs and fender trimming. Tires were 33x10.50 AT's and 33x12.50 TSL's and the combo worked great! Very little steering issues, not too bad of a ride, and no vibes. I've since moved on to SOA and 36's, but the 2.5" worked fine on moderate trails, and as you can see from some of the tellico pics, got me through so more difficult ones too!
