Since my searching returned bupkis.....
I've had a dented fender for some time now:

Anyway, I removed my flares last weekend b/c I'm getting TJ Sahara's here in the next few weeks. Now, looking at that dent, I just wanna flat-fender the whole thing.
Now heres the question...how do you do the curved part next to the grill?? Can someone w/ a flattie YJ snap some pics of the inside of the fender so I can see what it looks like when cut?

When I did mine I used a jigsaw with a fine metal blade. Used the base of the saw as a guide against the grill to get the right contour. Sorry no pic available at this time.

Sorry I can't help you with flat-fendering you Jeep but I had to comment on your dent. I have the EXACT same dent in the exact same spot with the same broken lense and tweeked flare!!!!

No, my fender became the victim of a rock in November.

here's as much of a closeup as i could find.

when you go to do it, just remove the bolts (3?) up in the fenderwell. then take a block of wood and wedge it between the grill and the fender. this will give you plenty of room to use the sawzaw. i think the whole thing took me about 30 minutes.
here's how the whole thing turned out.

Well....I guess that answers the question, "what will it look like" heh....
Same color Jeep, Snorkel, & flat fender. Looks killer man!!
When you say the bolts in the fender, do you mean the ones that go to the grill? By "wedge a block of wood b/t the fender & the grill" you mean an actual wedge so that theres a gap b/t the the two pieces, right?

I left a little lip next to the grill and took a hammer and pounded the lip around the front.
Here is it cut.

scribe a line on the fender along the grill, then loosen the 2 bolts along the grill, the one on the support bar, then the 2 on the other support. then i took a piece of 1x2" wood and pried the fender away from the grill, and wedged the 1x2 in to hold it away from the grill, then i just cut along the scribed line. here is a pic i just took, so you can see the 5 bolts i removed.

I'm going to run the wires back to the firewall & then onto the hood up to 2½" round amber LED marker lights in the side of the hood. I was going to just use 2", but because of inspection laws here, they have to be reflectors too. The only ones I could find that were both were 2½".

sorry I don't have pics, but I cut a small hole in the inner fenderwell, above the tire, with a torch. It's a hole just big enough to fit the plastic cylinder on the back of the factory side marker through. I then shot some sheetmetal screws throught the light's mounting holes. It works great, and I like the way it looks, still passes inspection here in NC.
