Thanks, I don't have any heat problems. There is about a 1.5 to 2 inch gap between the top of the amps and the bottom of the seats, so I think the heat dissipates fine. I have had it set up like that for about 8 months, no problems. The amps are rated at 400 for the speaks and 500 for the sub, but I think all together its a tad over 1000 watts. With the 1 Farad cap, I don't any dimming problems at night.

Hey steve how many watts are you running to that Perfect, and how do you like the way it sounds? I'm thinking of getting one myself.

I really like the Perfect, I would say that amp is pumping about 650 watts max, and the sub can take it. It distorts at really high volumes, but I think its because of the box. The only regret I have is that I didn't get two. http://forums.jeepsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

Actually, I'm trying to come up with a more imaginitive install, so until then, as long as I have the cargo cover, the naked box will do.

These are some pics of the old system in the wrecked jeep and the new system in the new jeep. The boxes are covered now and look great.

Hound, if you don't mind, what kind of money did you have in the system for the totaled jeep? I am thinking of going along those lines with mine.

Well, with all of it including installs was $5000. The majority of that is in the headunit, md changer and speakers. The total is even higher for this new one. I added a 10" xpl, an xdp-4000x digital eq/crossover/signal processor, and now am thinking of putting some 8" mid drivers in the rear doors. I am getting a really killer deal on the install and fab of the boxes and amp rack because the guy who is doing it is a real good friend of mine. I am guessing that if you were to have the boxes and amp rack built it would cost about 3000-4000. Very time consuming. I have put in alot of time helping with the construction but it should all turn out really cool.

12" Soundstream in custom box. Made to fit between tie down hooks, and have the exact amount of air space for this sub.

Blue,
I like the idea of the third sub in the console...I was just thinking today (first day of the season with the top and doors off...) how much more bass I'd be getting up front with a third sub there.
How did you run it, amp-wise?
I was thinking of running a 5 channel for my interiors with a channel for the sub, as opposed to the 4 channel that's running them now. Then my sub amp can keep doing it's thing with the two 10's and the new sub won't pull from those. Am I nuts? (Well...as far as this idea goes anyway...)
