View Full Version : Which year TJ's/Yj's and engine size came with 231's 23 spline input and speedo hole?
Just wondering. I need a 231 with 23 spline input and the speedo hole. I thought all 4.0L had the 23 spline input, but I discovered a website that says only for up to 94. Thanks for the help.

4.2's have the 21 spline output. Most 87's have the NP231 (mine does), while some others have the NP207. From then on, all YJs had the NP231. All 4.0 have the 23 spline output, four bangers have the 21 spline. HTH

My 98 has 23 spline. 2.5's come with 21 spline.
