Is this a direct bolt in, or does spring perchs need moved ? :puzzled:

perches need to be moved. XJs are SOA rear and YJ are SUA, not only that the springs are placed further outboard on the XJs

Exactly it is not a direct fit, but it is one of the most desireable mods. Being the XJ dana 44 is not the easiest to find. Granted its not as strong at the 8.8, but still, if beyond far better than the dana 35. I personally like it because it still uses Jeep parts (brakes) and keeps the same lug pattern. Its one of the few d44 that use that lug pattern.

Thanks, I don't know what I was thinking.:dunce: I knew the XJ is soa. I was more concerned about the width of the perchs. I take it the XJ and YJ has the same width axles ???

It's near exactly the same width... and has larger brakes than the D35. I am happy with mine.
Just ordered an ARB and 4.10 gears for my rear D44.

:puzzled: Out of curiosity, what about an MJ D44, It's SUA and supposed to be narrower than an XJ rear, plus I have one under my MJ and want to know if its pure gold for YJ owners. I also know they have 3 inch tubes. hmmmmmmmm

What about a WJ? I believe in 99 and up they did away with the aluminum housing and you get disc brakes.

Thanks again for all the coments.
Slander sounds like the beast is coming around. No YJ here, buddy of mine has one though. He's got the bug.
Remember Freddy at jamboree. Gray, and rusted CJ lifted with Boggers? He may have some questions about your rear scout 44. He bought one just the housing with disc brakes. Also bought front Waggy 44 with 4:88's with Lock right.
I think our bunch is going to do the Cumberland Jamboree south of Slade KY, in Oct. Good Luck on your YJ :jiggy:

I'll try and get out to measure it later, but after some research on the Cherokee Forum, the MJ spring mounts are supposed to be 1-2" closer than the ones on an XJ.
