I have the worthless carter 2bbl on my 87 4.2l (manual) and its flooding and dying on inclines ( ).. I had been considering putting the weber 32 on, but after the utterly worthless hill performance of the carter, I started thinking the holley truck avenger would be better.. of course it's way too big for my little 4.2l. so..
a: how does the weber do on inclines and general offroad in comparison to the carter and the holley TA ..
b: is there a better option than the above?
c: has anyone put the holley truck avenger on a 4.2l, and if so, how well does it work?
thanks!

I have a Holley Truck Avenger on a 383. You will not be able to use it on a 4.2. Save your 389.00 dollars.
I had a 4.2 with the Weber. I was happy with it, and it did better on inclines than the Carter, but still not as good as factory FI. I had a Holley Pro-jection kit on my 350. Worthless in my opinion. They are on Ebay regularly, and you can guess why.
I have seen some guys running the various brands of FI (such as Howell) available through some of the Jeep mags, as well as the Mopar brand. Most of those are a little pricey, but I have heard far more good than bad about the higher end kits.

Never used the carb you are asking about but I know a few guys that have done the MC2100 conversion and rave about it. Information/Procedures can be found at : http://www.rocktaxi.com/motocraft/42carbswap.html

thanks for the input. The FI options are a little spendy for me, so I am going with the weber for its being complete kit. :winky:
