I don't have an owners manual and I have heard both 3.73 and 3.07. I would just like to know because I am about the purchase 33x12.50x15 BFG MT KM's and I want to make sure and buy the best gear ratio for my Jeep. Thanks.

Most likely 3.07. My YJ is a 94 and had 3.07s with the 4.0 and AX-15. Look at the tag on the diff and double check.

Look at the narrow steel tag bolted between two bolts at the 9 o'clock position on your rear axle's differential cover. The ratio will be embossed into it as either "307" or "355" since they tend to leave the decimal points off.

I have 3.73, mine's a sahara and I don't know if that might have something to do with it(?). Check the diff. cover.

At one time my 93 was a 3.73 rear changed it once now have to change A second time. There should be a tag on the rear telling what the gear ratio is.

Where can I get some 3.73's cheap that will work for my setup?

My dads 93 4.0 ax-15 yj has 3.55's in it. My 89 yj HAD 3.55's in it, before I swapped them out for 4.56's

This is a sure fire way to calculate your gear ratio:
Yes, you can look at your axle tag, but this method tells the true tale every time, zero room for question if done correctly. :)
Jack up one rear tire if you have an open diff, or both tires if you have a working posi or locking differential. Rotate (transmission is in neutral), the tire(s), one full revolution for posis and lockers and 2 full revolutions for open diffs. Carefully count the number of full revolutions the driveshaft makes. This is your gear ratio. In other words, if the drive shaft turns 3 ¾ turns (and you have a locker), you probably have a 3.73 gear ratio. Turning the tire for twice the number of full revolutions and dividing the drive shaft revolutions by two will give you a more accurate reading.
With a floor jack, this process takes ~1-2 minutes max.
