I have looked at many 4" lift kits recently and have come to the conclusion that I will fit a Skyjacker 4" Standard Kit. I have heard that even when the transfer case is droped that you still will have driveline vibrations. Has anyone had expirence with this? I am planning to put a custom tail shaft in but it may be 6 months before I can afford one. Any opinions on the kit and whether I should expect to get driveline vibration. Also I have heard that the Skyjacker shocks provide a raugh ride. I plan on fitting Rancho 9000 shocks or maybe Old Man Emu Shocks because there ment to have a good ride and are cheeper than rancho.
Thanks JimmyC

I have a 4.0 L six (thats all you can get in Australia) extractors and a sports exhust and a 5 speed manual transmition. I will have 31" tyres untill I can afford to put in 4.1 dana gears with a front ARB air locker and then I will fit 33" x 12.5 Goodyear MT/R tyres on 15 x 10 Classic 2.
Cant help you out as to the vibrations other than to say FOR SURE you are going to need a SYE, however, as to SHOCKS, the fact that you live in Australia to me makes it seem a NO BRAINER, go with OME. They are certainly among the best and I would think MUCH cheaper for you there in Australia? john

I would assume OME lift's are also a good bit cheaper down there..
With an OME HD lift, 1" body lift, and possibly a 1" spacer, you could run 33's without a problem. In fact, that is basically what JDN is running, and it's exactly what I'll be running as well.. (see sig)
Just something else to think about.

Skyjacker? you like the red look dont ya. There are many suspension companys making good kits out there. Compare them all before making the plung. I like the Teraflex better, rusty,OME,full traction and the RE looks good.

I like OME lifts dont get me wrong - most people here (in Australia) use them. The problem is that OME does not sell here a spring lift higher than 2" for a TJ. I could Space the springs 1" and give my TJ a 1" body lift to get a 4" lift although by the time I do this the cost would be basicly the same as the Skyjacker standard lift. I like the idea of a proper spring lift better. Also the Skyjacker 4' standard kit comes with alot more in it than the OME 2" Kit. If you guys think I shoud get OME shocks ahead of Rancho and Skyjacker I will but I am still not convienced with the rest of the kit.

I drove with the Skyjacker Standard 4" lift for 8 months and it was rough, I blew a U joint on my driveshaft, and the coils sagged in the front to the point that it looked like i had 2" of lift in the front. Their customer service was terrible and parts broke really easily. Im running the RE Long arm now and all their parts are stronger. Id go with RE, Full Traction, or Teraflex.

RE is really expensive in Australia double the price of Skyjacker what do you think of the Procomp 4" lift with OME shocks?

Can't you order an RE kit from America? Did you check out Full Traction, Teraflex, or the Rockcrawler kits?

If Skyjacker is the cheapest lift by far, dont only take my opinion and situation as the only one. Someone else post their experience with skyjacker because Im sure there are good things about them too.
